"The Study" is a series of paintings inspired by the works of old masters and their iconic masterpieces. I bridge the gap between past and present aiming to reimagine these heavy, dark icons from the past, infusing them with a vibrant and modern energy to make them more approachable. Using large canvases, I create a striking impact while employing minimal sharp lines. The backgrounds feature a blend of water and acrylic, applied by hand rather than with a brush, resulting in unique effects and textures. The central figures are painted in black and white with shades of gray, or in contrasting colors, drawing attention to them for deeper interpretation.”
